Welcome to Carnation Elementary School.  With a focus on arts, student support and daily learning, Carnation Elementary is a unique place for the children and adults who come through our schoolhouse doors.  Classroom instruction, art docents, speakers and guests combine to continue and strengthen our focus on learning through the arts.  Student support is characterized by recess clubs, an active Associated Student Body, volunteers in classrooms and programs, and the intentional use of the resources of time, people and money in designing supports for students.

It is in the area of daily learning that Carnation Elementary truly shines.  Our staff is very intentional in knowing each and every child in order to help that child’s learning.  As these relationships are developed, we continue to examine, refine and improve our practices in order to help our students in their academic, behavioral and social learning.  The result of the above actions is a school environment that supports and challenges children and adults in their learning.

Carnation Elementary is an exciting place to learn and grow.  We welcome you as a parent, guardian, volunteer and visitor.  When you have a chance to visit us, please check in at the office.  We look forward to sharing our school and our work with you.

The Riverview School District complies with all federal and state statutes and regulations and does not discriminate in any programs or activities on the basis of sex, race, creed, religion, color, national origin, age, veteran or military status, sexual orientation, gender expression or identity, disability, or the use of a trained dog guide or service animal, and provides equal access to the Boy Scouts and other designated youth groups.  This holds true for all district employment and student opportunities.  Inquiries regarding compliance and/or grievance procedures may be directed to the school district’s Title IX/RCW 28A.640 Officer (Ms Janet L.
