These are pictures of Carnation Pioneers drawn by our students. There is also a picture of Snoqualmie tribe chief Jerry Kanim, (now deceased). There are also several pictures of Carnation Students telling Native American stories in honor of the newly recognized Snoqualmie Tribe.
This is Snoqualmie Chief Jerry Kanim, his wife and his granddaughter.
This is Pioneer James Entwistle. He served with McClellan at Snoqualmie Pass in the late 1850's; then went AWOL, then returned to the army. He proved up 160 acres in Carnation and married Mary Showay, a Native American. They had three children, but she died canoeing on the Snoqualmie River. Mr. Entwistle remarried Sarah. They are buried in the cemetary right next to Carnation Elementary. |
