RSD Dress Code Policy

With spring upon us, and warmer weather just around the corner, it is the time of year that we must remind many of the RSD Dress Code Policy. The areas that we have seen some of our students falter are:

Pants worn below the waist or on the hips (no undergarments may show - this includes boxer shorts).

Short shorts or skirts (must be longer than fingertips with arms at sides)

Spaghetti Straps (unless worn under another shirt)

Heely shoes (unless wheels are removed)

Your help in assuring your child comes to PARADE properly attired is greatly appreciated. Students found not in compliance will be asked to call home for a change of clothes.

A complete listing of the RSD Dress Code can be found on the district website.

New Pick-Up Time Wednesday Mid-day

Last week we sent an email to those kids that transition mid-day on Wednesdays advising them of a time change beginning Wed., Feb. 6. Please be advised that this affects Wednesday ONLY. The remainder of the week (Monday, Tuesday & Thursday) will stay the same. If your child gets dropped off or picked up mid-day, the new transition time is 12:00-12:05pm in the Alcove. If you are running late you will need to park your car and come in to portable 4 to sign your child out.

Adverse Weather Conditions

As a reminder, when the district adjusts their arrival schedule due to adverse weather conditions PARADE does so as well. Notifications are posted on the district website at www.riverview.wednet.edu and on SchoolReport.org as well as on radio and news broadcasts.

Please Help with Transition Time

Remember to use the alcove for drop off and pick up—regardless of the day or time. DO NOT drop off/pick up kids at the fence.

Classes start at 9:00am  - SHARP. We have too many kids arriving late on a regular basis (bus kids are excluded). Even 5 minutes late disrupts the class.

If you arrive prior to 9:00am continue to use the “Alcove” to drop off your child. If you arrive after 9:00am—especially when the Carnation Elem. Staff are on the sidewalk directing traffic—you must now follow the Carnation guidelines which is to pull completely forward to the office and let your child out there. They will then walk down the sidewalk and enter through the alcove. We appreciate your cooperation regarding this matter. It’s all about keeping the kids safe and keeping traffic moving during the hectic morning.

Students leaving/arriving mid day Mon.-Wed. MUST CHECK IN in the alcove from 12:25-1:35pm. If you need to pick up your child outside of these times then you must park your car and come in to the portable to sign them out.

If your child is leaving early due to an appt., etc. then you need to send in a note AND come in to sign your child out.

We have a lot of kids to keep track of and your help adhering to our guidelines is greatly appreciated. It’s all about keeping your kids safe and accounted for!

Bus Service for PARADE Students

For a more exact schedule of bus routes, visit the district transportation link from the district website or contact Tom Bishop—Transportation Supervisor.

There is a map of the bus routes in Port. 4

Scholastic Book Orders

March Order Forms are on their way home. They are due Wed., March 26th.

If you are not currently receiving order forms, but would like to, please send in a note and we will start sending them home.

Any questions please contact Mickey Davidson at thedavidsons@hotmail.com or 425-333-0517.

We are collecting Ink Cartridges !

We are now collecting used ink cartridges to recycle for cash. Money generated from this program will go directly to PARADE. You can send them in at anytime with your child or drop them off to Stacy in Port. 4. A flyer will be sent home in your child’s communication folder with more details.

Campbell’s Labels

This is a reminder to continue sending in those Campbell’s labels. We have a couple of families participating but not nearly the amount that could. Remember, there is no additional cost to you, it’s just a matter of clipping the UPC code and logo from products you currently buy. It’s not just soup! Included are;

  *  Pepperidge Farms Products    * V8  * Prego  *Swanson Broths

We do not need the entire label only the UPC Code. Just send them in your child’s communication folder.

Box Tops For Education

Box Tops for Education is a great program as they actually send us cash to use in our program! You will find these on Betty Crocker, General Mills, Kimberly-Clark, Hefty & Ziploc products. We will continue to collect them throughout the year.

Any questions regarding either of these programs, please contact Stacy.
