Vision

As an Alternative Learning Program in the Riverview School District for home schooling families, we commit to a flexible, respectful environment, which encourages the love of learning and the development of social and academic skills.

We envision becoming a supportive resourceful community for parents wishing to be their child’s primary teacher.

We will facilitate the creation of relationships between parents, teachers, students, and other opportunities in our community.

Mission

The PARADE Program working in tandem with home schooling families supports the education of students grades K—12 to become passionate life long learners and caring respectful citizens.

Goals

  • Parents are an integral part of the program; included in planning, decision making and networking.
  • We strive for a balance of educational responsibilities between parents and teachers to foster the student’s highest achievement.
  • The focus will be primarily academic to supplement the instruction by the parents.  Enrichment classes will be offered to broaden the student’s learning opportunities.
  • All students will be treated with dignity and respect and taught to so treat others.
  • Learning and support will be offered to families with students in grades K-12.  Those completing the program will leave with a post secondary plan.
  • Parents will assist PARADE Staff with the monitoring and evaluating of student progress.
  • Learning will be fun and appropriate to the needs and interests of our families.
