Purpose: High school students who need a specific math course not being offered as a class during the 08-09 school year may sign up for an independent study course. The course plan, expectations, homework requirements, assessments, etc. will be prepared with instructor guidance.
Description of learning activities: The course plan for the specific course will be prepared by the advisor or assigned teacher. Assessments may include oral or written exams, projects, presentations, portfolio, etc. In many cases, students will be required to document their learning activities by keeping a log or journal.
Follow-up or at-home activities: Students
should average 5-7 hours per week at home.
Textbook/Materials needed: Textbook may be
provided by student with teacher approval.
Graphing Paper, Graphing Calculator (TI 84 plus) recommended.
