Class Length: Semester 2
Purpose: To introduce
students to a basic understanding of physics principles such as force, levers,
wheels, gears, and pulleys.
Description of learning activities: Students will engage in hands-on exploration of the basic concepts
of simple machines through fun problem solving activities. Students will also learn the basic concepts
behind structures and forces, levers, wheels and axles, gears, and pulleys.
Students will also have multiple opportunities to work with a partner or team.
Follow-up or at-home activities: Students might
have sporadic follow up activities to reinforce concepts learned in class.
Textbook/Materials needed: Lego
