Typical Classroom Schedule

9:15-9:40:     Morning Routine of cursive review, daily oral language review, or math  challenge folder and reading work

9:45-10:45: Literacy Block -consists of Guided Reading Groups, Celebrate Reading Curriculum, Choral Reading, Literature Circles, Writer’s Workshop, and Step Up to Writing program, students write in their journals on writing topics

10:45-11:00: Recess

11:15-11:45:  Specialists

11:50:12:10:  Mr. Fridenvalds's Read Aloud

12:10-1:00:  Lunch

1:00-1:20:   Free Writing & Drop Everything And Read (DEAR) Also used for Choral Reading in small groups and one-on-one instruction time (Completion of Literacy Block Material)  

1:20-2:10: Math Block: Mathematical Investigations lessons

2:10-2:25: Recess

2:30-2:40: Journal completion and homework distribution

2:40-3:20:  Various Science Units / Social Studies units

3:20-3:25: Pack up and dismiss
