  We're Going to the Zoo
                    - Volunteer Quota Met
You guys are awesome.  The notes went out on Tuesday and already we've gotten the maximum number of volunteers we can take!  I'm excited about the Forest Explorer Program.  I've never been and I hear it is very well done.  After attending the Forest Explorer Program to learn about tropical and temperate rainforests, we will be visiting rainforest exhibits and should have a little time left to see some other exhibits as well.  Thanks Everyone!

   Henry and Mudge Time Change
We are still scheduled to go to "Henry and Mudge" on May 15.  Only the time of the play has changed.  We will now be going to a 12:30 show.  That will make it much easier for us to get downtown in time for the curtain to rise.  Yes!

  South American Sharing Theme
Our new sharing theme is South America/The Amazon Rainforest.  Students are to find out something they find interesting about South America or the Amazon Rainforest.  They can search in books or on the internet.  They are welcome to bring artifacts from South America, photos, etc. to show.  If you have an artifact you don't mind lending to the classroom through our study of this continent, we'd love to keep it in our class South America Museum!  I'll be sending sharing pages home about a week before your child's sharing date.

MCT
We're looking for housing for the directors of the MCT production coming to Carnation Elementary on January 22nd.  Both directors are college age.  One is allergic to cats.  If you have questions or would like this opportunity to help out the production, please call the office and let them know ASAP.

Note From the GYM
The traversing wall is ready for use - Yippee!  Next week everyone will have the opportunity to use it.  You must be wearing the appropriate attire to do so (tennis shoes, no jewelry, comfortable but not baggy clothing).

  Science Van Volunteers Needed
The Science Van from Pacific Science Center will be here all day Thursday, Feb. 7.  Carnation Elementary is putting out the word that we need a good number of volunteers to help out throughout the day.   Volunteer jobs include loading and unloading the van as well as monitoring the the exhibit areas.  Just let us know how long you are available.
